Pokrivaca, reinterpretation of traditional head covering
Pokrivaca is traditional name for a piece od cotton linen shaped as a scarf, that is used for head protection, and stiffed by starch into specific shape. Most common are basic white ones, that differ in shape and form from place to place all around Croatian coast. New Pokrivaca reinterprets this traditional head covering through a new material – special kind of paper, turning it into an accessory at its own right. Small differences in design enables Pokrivaca to be flat folded. Paper as a material provides possibilities of embossed printing for motives of a lace or special embroideries.
